Ways to Increase Website Traffic

In the early days of the internet, word of mouth was the way most people found out about specific websites.  I remember hearing about AltaVista, this cool new search engine, back in 1996.  It would what?  It will sift through all the websites and list the ones relevant to the topic on which you were searching?  How do they do that?  Wow.

Well, search engines like GoogleTM are certainly mainstream today; they're the friendly librarians of the internet.  But, in order for your book to get "traffic,"  it helps if it's positioned properly. That's where Search Engine Optimization (SEO) from Siteology.net comes in.  That is, in order to increase traffic, it would help if it had a good title that would catch the librarian's attention.  And to increase traffic, you would want to make sure your book was in the right section of the library - the section germaine to what potential readers were looking for.

It's the same with websites.  In order to increase traffic to your site, you want to first find out who your target audience is.  Who is going to be looking for your product or service?  How do they think?  What keywords are they going to be using to find sites dealing with the topic they're interested in?  These are the questions which, when answered, will drive traffic to your site - and increase it.
